Welcome to St. Peter’s Covenant Church

Mission Statement

To cultivate fully committed followers of Christ, who love and serve God with head, heart, and hands.

Vision Statement

To be a vibrant, multi-generational community where the love of God draws us together, and compels us to reach out to others.

Framework

Worship God
Live by God’s Word
Do God’s work
Impact God’s world

The center of our life together is the worship of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We will order our lives together according to Acts 2:42.

Every Christian is given at least one spiritual gift – to be discovered and used for good.

We will be biblically grounded, culturally relevant and respectful of our heritage.

Children are a gift from God to be treasured and nurtured into true faith.

Church experiences should unite, not divide, families.

We will show love for our neighbors with hands-on acts of compassion and caring.

Hands-on missions will be a prime means of mentoring our youth & building true fellowship.

Fully devoted followers of Christ are committed to grow in faith, Christ-likeness, and biblical worldview.

God can do mighty things through small or weak vessels which are committed to Him.

The Evangelical Covenant Church denomination seeks to form and nurture communities that are deeply committed to Jesus Christ and passionately engaged in Christ’s mission in the world. The purpose of Covenant affirmations is to make clear the values and principles that have guided the Evangelical Covenant Church since its founding in 1885.

For Covenant people, our essential beliefs are summed up in what we call Covenant Affirmations:

  • We affirm the centrality of the word of God.
  • We affirm the necessity of the new birth.
  • We affirm a commitment to the whole mission of the church.
  • We affirm the church as a fellowship of believers.
  • We affirm a conscious dependence on the Holy Spirit.
  • We affirm the reality of freedom in Christ.

To read more about each of these affirmations, please read the Covenant brochure.
